After the ceremony, join us for dinner, drinks, and dancing at the historic Howell Opera House.
Built in 1881,
the Opera House originally held retail spaces on the first floor with
the theatre and balconies above. Until its closure in 1924, the
theatre was the center of entertainment for the community. People
would come from miles around to see jugglers, hear speeches from the
likes of presidential candidate William Jennings Bryan and
industrialist Henry Ford, enjoy dinner theatre and parties, and see
productions of Gilbert and Sullivan's "Mikado" and
Shakespeare's "Hamlet."
Today, the
Opera House theatre on the second floor remains just as it had when
the theatre closed over 80 years ago. During the reception, small
groups will be taken upstairs for a guided tour.
Parking
There is plenty of free parking in downtown Howell within walking distance of the ceremony and reception. Those staying at the hotel can choose to take the free shuttle.
